Eleven Ingredient Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Portuguese sausage, chopped and sauted until lightly browned
  • 1 package (14-15 ounces) cubed seasoned stuffing mix
  • 1 (14-14 1/2 ounce) chicken broth
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place sausage and stuffing mix in 13x9 inch glass baking dish

In 3 quart saucepan, combine remaining ingredients and 1 1/3 cup water; heat to boiling over high heat until margarine melts. Pour over stuffing mix; toss to coat.

Bake stuffing, uncovered, 30 to 40 minutes or until heated through and top is browned.
