Cheese Grits

  • 6 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 cups grits
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 5 eggs, beaten

Preparation

Step 1

Bring the water and salt to a boil in a large saucepan. Stir in the grits. Cook using the package directions. Add the cheese, stirring until melted. Remove from the heat and let cool to lukewarm. Stir a small amount of the cheese mixture into the eggs; stir the eggs into the cheese mixture. Spoon into a greased baking dish, 2-quart or souffle dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
