Sesame Seed Tea Cookies
- 3 C flour
- 3/4 C sugar
- 2 t baking powder
- 1/8 t salt
- 1/2 C butter, softened
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/4 C whole milk
- 2 t vanilla
- 1/4 C whole milk in a bowl
- 3/4 C sesame seeds
Parchment paper on cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix them up until well blended.
Cut the butter into pieces and add. Blend them in with a pastry blender or fork. Make a well in the center of flour mixture and add beaten eggs, 1/4 C milk and vanilla. Mix with a spoon until soft dough forms.
Divide the dough into 4 pieces. Roll each dough piece into a long roll (resembling a snake) that's approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. The rolls should be about 24 inches long.
Cut the rolls into 2 inch pieces with a sharp knife. Put the sesame seeds in a shallow bowl. Dip each piece into the milk, and then roll in the seeds. Place the sesame covered pieces one inch apart on cookie sheets.
Bake at 375 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit on cookie sheet for 2 minutes.
