Ingredients

  • 1 med. onion, minced

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 lb. ground beef

  • 10 oz. can sliced mushrooms

  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce

  • 51/2 can tomatoe paste

  • 1/3 cup parm. cheese

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 1 egg, well beaten

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 cup cottage cheese

  • lasagne noodles

  • mozzarella cheese

Directions

Saute onion, garlic in half the oil. Add ground beef and brown, breaking apart with fork. Stir in mushrooms with liquid, tomato sauce, tomato paste, half the salt, the oregano and the water. Simmer 15 minutes. Combine egg. cottage cheese, parm. cheese, remaining oil and salt. Spread 1/3 meat sauce in baking dish. Cover with 1/3 lasgne needle. Add cottage cheese mixture. Alternate another 1/3 of sauce and noodles Arrange mozza cheese on top. Bake at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes I use uncooked noodles and bake longer. I also double the meat sauce . I like lots of meat sauce.
