  • 1 lb. butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • mixed nuts chopped
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • finely chopped nuts
  • 12oz. pkg. chocolate chips



Step 1

Bring butter and water to a boil. Add sugar, cook until candy thermometer reaches 280 degrees; add mixed nuts and cook to 300 degrees. Add soda, mixing well.
Pour mixture into a buttered cookie sheet, sprinkle with chocolate chips; let melt and spread evenly. sprinkle top with chopped nuts. Let cool completely, then break into pieces.
