Ingredients
- 3 2/3 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cups butter
- 2 1/3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs, lightly beaten
- 4 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/3 cups milk

Preheat oven to 325.
In mixer beat butter until creamy then add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy - about 5 minutes. Add eggs a little at a time, beating well after every addition. Beat in the vanilla until just incorporated. Reduce speed to low and add the dry ingredients, (pre-sifted) alternating with milk. Spoon batter into cupcake pan filling to 1/2 from rim. Bake for 70 - 80 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 to 20 minutes then remove from pan and alow to cool completely on wire rack. Ice and serve.
