Yeast Biscuits

Ingredients

  • Sift together in large mixing bowl:
  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Cut in shortening the size of 2 large eggs. Dissolve 1 package yeast in ¼ cup lukewarm water. Add 2 cups buttermilk. Add liquid to dry ingredients. Knead lightly. Keep in greased covered mixing bowl in refrigerator. Bake until brown at 450 degrees. Keeps one week in refrigerator.
