Ingredients

  • Ingredients A
  • 500gms beef stir fry slices
  • 1/2 inch ginger, sliced thinly
  • 1 red onion sliced and ground to paste
  • 3 tablespoons thick soy sauce
  • 5 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon chinese wine
  • Marinate the above ingredients for at least 24 hours or up to 5 days in the freezer.
  • Leave it out to thaw for a couple of hours when ready to cook.

  • 1 big yellow onion sliced
  • 3 pips garlic sliced
  • 4-5 sliced red chilies
  • 1 big potatoe sliced
  • 3-4 stalks of chopped spring onions

Preparation

Step 1

In a wok, heat some vegetable oil and stir fry ingredients B till aromatic before adding in ingredients A. After stirring it for a good 5 minutes I added enough water to cover the beef just above its surface and closed the lid of the wok and let the fire do its part.

After 20 minutes I added some sliced potatoes and closed the lid again and left it to simmer for another 30 minutes (adding water along the way every now and then).

Just 5 minutes before removing it from the fire I added the spring onions.
