Six Layer Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tbl corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 box powder sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cake:

Preheat oven to 350.

Cream butter, add sugar and cream for 6-8 minutes. Add eggs (one at a time). Add flour and milk. Add vanilla. Divide between 3, 9" cakepans. Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool, cut in half (horizontally).

Frosting:

Mix sugar, cocoa, butter and half-and-half, corn syrup, salt in pan. Boil for 3 minutes. Remove and beat in powder sugar and vanilla. Spread between cake layers and frost top and sides.
