Ingredients
- Stew:
- 1 lb beef, cut into 2" cubes
- 1 (10 oz) can French onion soup, undiluted
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup, undilutes
- Cornbread:
- 1 cup corn meal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup shortening
Preparation
Step 1
Stew:
Mix ingredients together in casserole dish and bake at 250 uncovered for 3 hours. Do not brown meat before adding other ingredients. Serve over rice, noodles or corn bread.
Cornbread:
Sift together dry ingredients. Add egg, milk and shortening. Stir until smooth. Do not over mix. Bake in greased 8" square pan or muffin pans at 425 for 20-25 minutes.
