Margaret Rudder's Easy Rum Cake

Ingredients

  • Glaze:
  • 1 pkg yellow or white cake mix
  • 1 3/4 oz pkg vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cool water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Empty cake and pudding mix into bowl. Add rum, water, oil and eggs. Beat for 2-3 minutes. Place pecans into well-greased and floured tube or bundt pan. Pour in batter and bake 1 hour at 350. Remove from pan. Punch small holes in cake. Pour glaze over hot cake. For glaze mix all ingredients and bring to hard boil for 1 minutes. The pour over cake.
