Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks), softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 egg
- 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- colored sugar or granulated sugar
Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter on low speed or with spoon until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla, almond extract and egg. Stir in flour and baking soda. Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
On ungreased cookie sheet, place 2 in. apart. Flatten with thumb all around. Sprinkle with colored sugar or granulated sugar. Bake at 375 for 8 - 10 minutes or until set. Remove from cookie sheet immediately to cooling rack. Makes about 4 dz.
