Mama's Chocolate Pound Cake

Ingredients

• 3 cups sugar
• 3 cups cake flour
• 1 1/4 cups milk
• 1 stick butter
• 1 cup Crisco
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tbsp. vanilla
• 1 tbsp. lemon
• 4 tbsp. cocoa
• 5 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

Beat sugar, shorting and butter for 10 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. Add milk. Add four one tbsp at a time. Add other ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 35 minutes.

White Frosting:
3 cups powdered sugar
1 stick butter
5-6 tbsp. milk
½ tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. lemon
