Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cubed potatoes (aloo)
  • 1/2 cup of peas (mutter)
  • 1/2 cup of chopped onion
  • 1 cup pureed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp of oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Make a paste of the onion, ginger & garlic.

2. Steam the peas with salt & set aside.

3. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add cumin seeds, onion,ginger-garlic
paste. Saute until the onions have turned golden brown.

4. Add tomato puree, potatoes, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, salt &
chilli powder & stir well.

5. Add 1 cup of water, simmer covered until the potatoes are cooked.

6. Add the peas & simmer for 5 more minutes adding more water if required.

7. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot.
