Chocoholic Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cups cocoa
  • 1 (12 oz) pkg chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 9 oz. (3 - 3 oz. bars) white chocolate
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Crisco

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets (or line with parchment paper).
DO NOT ALTER ORDER!
Combine oats and chocolate chips in large bowl; set aside. In another large bowl, beat butter and sugars till creamy. Sift flour, soda, salt and cocoa, add to butter mixture, stirring till comgined well. (Batter will be very stiff.) Stir milk and vanilla into eggs, then stir into butter mixture till well mixed. Add chips and oats, stir well.

Drop 2 tablespoons onto pans 2" apart. Bake 9-12 minutes. Cool on pan 1 minute; transfer to rack. Melt white chocolate with Crisco in double boiler over simmering water (or in microwave, being VERY careful not to scorch). Hold cooled cookie and dip 1/3 into choclate. Place on rack over wax paper to dry. Store between wax paper.
