Anisette Cookies

Ingredients

  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 cups vegetable shortening
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 ounces anise oil

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F.
Lightly grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
Combine flour and baking powder; set aside.
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add milk and anise oil.
Slowly dry ingredients.
With about 1 tablespoon of dough form little circles and place on cookie sheet about 2" apart.
Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly colored.
Transfer to wire racks to cool.
