Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (12 oz.) chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixing bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 9 – 11 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Bar cookie variation: Prepare dough as above. Spread into 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake in pre-heated oven for 20 – 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely in pan. Cut into bars. Makes 4 dozen.
