Soft Sugar Cookies

This was my Mom's favorite cookie to make during the holidays. These cookies were the softest cookies – they just melted in your mouth!!

Ingredients

• 5 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup oleo
• 1 cup sweet milk
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 2 tsp cream of tartar

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, cream the sugar and oleo; Add the eggs. Mix well until the mixture is fluffy. Sift the dry ingredients together and add the ingredients to the large bowl. Roll the dough into balls, the size of walnuts, and place on an *UNgreased* cookie sheet; Press each dough ball with a the bottom of a drinking glass that has been dipped in sugar. Bake the cookies at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
