Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup fine bread or cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups cream of mushroom soup (make your own if possible)
- 2-3 tablespoons water, opt.
Preparation
Step 1
Combine ground beef, bread/cracker crumbs, water, salt, and pepper. Pat mixture out to ¾” thick (a 2 quart baking dish works great). Cover and place in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
Remove meat from refrigerator and divide out into 6 pieces. Pat each piece ¾” thick. Lightly coat each piece with flour. Brown in a small amount of oil on each side. Place into a baking dish. Pour the cream of mushroom soup (thinned with the 2-3 tablespoons of water if it is too thick) over the meat. Cover and bake at 300F for 1½ hours.
