Marble Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups cake flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 ½ oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 inch pan.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, and the salt and set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar well, until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the beaten eggs, a little at a time, mixing well after each addition. Combine the milk, and the vanilla. Alternately add the flour and milk mix into the butter mixture. Pour ¼ of the batter into a bowl and add the melted chocolate. Alternately place the vanilla and chocolate batter into the prepared pan, swirl the batter with the bottom of a wooden spoon handle. Bake 25 – 30 minutes.
