Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter at room temperature (4 ozs)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 375 degrees.
In large bowl, cream butter with 1 cup sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add sour cream and mix well.
In small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together. Add to butter mixture and beat well. Stir in vanilla.

In another small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar, nuts and cinnamon.

Pour half of batter into greased bundt pan or 10inch spring form pan. Sprinkle half of nut mixture over batter. Add rest of batter, then rest of nut mixture on top. Swirl batter with knife, as for a marble cake.
Bake 45 minutes. Cool cake in pan on rack for about 15 minutes. Turn out on plate.

When cool - sprinkle top of cake lightly with confectioners' sugar if desired.
