Ingredients

  • 5 T meringue powder

  • 1/2 C minus 2 T water

  • OR

  • 2 egg whites at room temp

  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

  • 2 tsp water

  • 1 lb confectioners sugar

Directions

Place all of the ingredients in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat slowly until blended. Then beat at medium speed until the icing forms stiff peaks, about 5 mins. Add more sugar if the icingis not stiff enough or a few drops of water if it is too stiff. Use immediately or cover the bowl with a damp cloth to prevent drying when not in use. Allow at least 24 hours for decorations to dry at room temp.
