Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 1/2 cups powdered milk
- 1/3 cup brown rice flour
- 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
- 4 teaspoons ground wheat germ
- 5/8 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons ground flax seeds
- 1 cup unsalted natural-style peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla or maple extract
- 1 cup whole almonds
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 cup water (as needed)
- 8 ounces whey protein powder
Preparation
Step 1
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and pulse to mix to a dough like consistency. Transfer mixture to a well buttered 9 x 12 pan. Because mixture is very sticky, wet hands and roughly mold to the pan. Then place a sheet of cling wrap over the mixture and smooth it out.
Remove the wrap and place in an oven at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, or until the sides just start to appear done. Allow to cool completly before removing from the pan. Cut into bars and enjoy!
