FRUIT ICES

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups fresh orange sections or
  • 2 cans mandarin oranges drained
  • 1-1/2 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened raspberries or strawberries, thawed if frozen
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

In a 1 cup measure stir the sugar into warm water until dissolved. In a blender container or food processor bowl combine desired fruit, sugar mixture and lemon juice. Cover and blend or process until mixture is nearly smooth, Pour into a 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Cover and freeze for 4-5 hours or until almost firm. Transfer the frozen mixture to a chilled large mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes or until fluffy. Return fruit mixture to loaf pan. Cover and freeze for 6 hours or until firm. Let the fruit ice stand about 20 minutes at room temperature before serving.
