Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 lb. plums, halved and pitted
- ½ cup butter
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ¾ cup milk
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place ¼ cup butter in a 9 inch square pan, sprinkle with brown sugar and arrange plum halves, cut side down on to of the sugar, pack in closely.
Cream ½ cup butter, and add the sugar slowly until mixture is light and creamy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition, beat in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the butter mix alternately with the milk. Place in a baking pan and bake 40 – 50 minutes.
