Stuffed Cabbage

This is a favorite recipe. It was given to me by Florence McDaniel, a lady I knew at Shadow Rock.

Ingredients
- Cook following three items together until almost tender:
- 1/2 lb ground beef fried together with
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 lb ground veal
- 1/2 lb bacon cut in small pieces, fried crisp and drained
- 1 large head cabbage steamed until soft/pliable
- 1/2 cup regular rice cooked until almost tender
- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 3/4 cup chopped celery
- 3/4 cup chopped green pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Combine all ingredients except cabbage in large skillet.
Salt and pepper to taste
Add 2 Tbs flour. Now carefully start wrapping meat mixture in cabbage leaves, pin with wooden picks, fry lightly and place in loaf pan. Dilute 2 small c, tomato sauce to cover cabbage. Chop heart of cabbage and sprinkle over rolls and then sprinkle some cheese on top.
