Fried Banana Wontons

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 2 ripe bananas, thinly sliced
  • 1 egg white, beaten with 1 tsp. water
  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup creme fraiche

Preparation

Step 1

In a small bowl, microwave chocolate chips and cream for about 45 seconds.

On a work surface, lay 12 wonton wrappers flat. Top 6 of them with banana slices. Brush the other 6 wrappers with some of the egg wash and place on top of banana wontons. Press edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wonton wrappers.

Add half the butter to a pan over medium heat. Add half the wontons and cook, turning once, until deep golden-brown, 2-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Drizzle with chocolate and dollop with creme fraiche.
