Sausage and Penne Italiano

Ingredients
- 1 lb. pork sausage
- 26 oz. jar Prego Italian Sausage and Garlic Spaghetti Sauce
- Two 4 oz. cans Green Giant Mushroom Stems and Pieces
- 1/2 - 1 medium green pepper, diced
- 3/4 cup onion, diced (optional)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 12 oz. pkg. Penne pasta
- 8 oz. pkg Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook the Penne pasta according to the package directions; Drain. Meanwhile, cook the pork sausage until it is no longer pink in the center. Add the garlic, mushrooms, green pepper, and onion; Simmer for 10 minutes. Add the spaghetti sauce and Penne pasta to the sausage mixture. Cover and simmer for 5 - 8 minutes. Pour half of the mixture into a 3 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese and add half of the mozzarella cheese; Repeat. Bake, UNcovered for 15 - 20 minutes. Serve hot with garlic bread.
