Balloon cake pops

Ingredients

  • 515g pkg white cake mix
  • 4 cups white chocolate chips
  • 6 food colouring pastes
  • lollipop sticks
  • mutlicoloured ribbon

Preparation

Step 1

1Make white cake mix according to package directions. Follow instructions on cake-pop maker to create 36 cake pops from batter (you may get a few more or less). Cool pops on a wire rack. Once cool, store in an airtight container until ready to use.

2Divide chocolate chips among 6 microwave-safe bowls. Working with one bowl at a time, microwave on high for 15-sec. intervals, stirring after each, until chocolate is melted and shiny. Add a small amount of food colouring paste into each bowl and stir well, adding more until desired colour is achieved.

3Dip tip of lollipop stick into melted chocolate, then insert into cake pop. Dip cake pop into chocolate glaze until fully covered. Twirl and gently tap off excess. Place cake pop stick-side-down in a foam block or cake-pop stand to let harden. Repeat with remaining cake pops. To decorate, tie a small ribbon where cake pop meets lollipop stick.
