  • 1 1/4 cups softened butter
  • 2 tblsp dark corn syrup
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teas soda
  • 3 tblsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • zest of 1 small orange
  • juice of one small orange



Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Line a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with parchment paper

In large bowl with electric mixer beat the buttetr, syrup and sugar until fairly smooth

In seperate bowl combine flour,baking soda and cocoa. Beat in 1 tablespoon of the dry ingredients into the syrup mixture and then beat in 1 egg. Beat in the rest of the dry ingredient and then the last egg.

Add orange zest and then slowly add the orange juice. Batter may look slightly curdled.

Pour batter into prepared pan and then bake for about 45 minutes.
