Ingredients

    cup mayonnaise

  • 1

    (8 ounce) package cream cheese,

  • room temperature

  • 2

    cups shredded Swiss cheese

  • 1/4

    teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4

    teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4

    cup chopped slivered almonds

  • 1

    (1 pound) loaf round pumpernikel rye

Directions

1.Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2.In a medium bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, cream cheese, Swiss cheese, onion powder, garlic powder and almonds. 3. Cut off top of bread and set aside. Hollow out loaf of bread leaving a 1" thickness . Fill with cheese mixture and replace top. Wrap in heavy duty aluminum foil and bake in oven until cheese is melted and piping hot. Usually 1 1/2-2 hrs. Cut the pieces of bread from the inside into cubes to use for dipping.
