Ingredients
- ● 1/2 cup uncooked rice
- ● 1 cup elbow macaroni
- ● 1 14 oz chicken broth
- ● 2 10 3/4 oz cream of chicken soup
- ● 2 1/2 cup milk
- ● 2 cup chopped ham
- ● 1 onion , chopped
- ● 2 carrots, chopped
- ● 1 green pepper, chopped
- ● 1/4 cup butter
- ● 1 16 oz can whole tomatoes
- ● 2 cups cooked chicken/turkey, chopped
- ● 2 tsp salt
- ● 1/2 cup heavy cream
Preparation
Step 1
Cook rice and macaroni according to package directions. Combine cooked rice and macaroni with broth, soup, and milk. Set aside. In a large Dutch oven, saute ham, onions, carrots, and green pepper in butter. Add broth mixture; simmer 10 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, chicken and salt and simmer an additional 15 minutes. Blend in cream and heat thoroughly, but do not boil. Serve immediately.
