Vinegared Onions (Mrs. Karve)

  • 1 large onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 ½ t. salt
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • ½ - 1 t. sugar
  • red food coloring



Step 1

Sprinkle salt on sliced onion. Let stand 30-40 minutes. Rinse under cold water and drain. Squeeze with fingers to let excess water out. Mix vinegar, sugar and food color. Soak onions in mixture for 3-4 hours at room temperature.
