Ingredients

  • 3 cups large flake quaker oats
  • 3/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 3/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup wild honey
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup sliced dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 1 cup sun-dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup sun-dried cherries

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Toast the quaker oats, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and sliced almonds. In a saute pan gently heat the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and honey, stirring to incorporate the flavours.

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, mix well. Line baking tray with parchment paper and spread mixture evenly. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. While still warm, cut into squares. Cool and serve.

Cinnamon is very strong, could probably cut back half if desired.
