Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 2/3 cup pecans or walnut pieces
  • 1/3 cup unbleached sliced almonds
  • 1-2 TBS melted butter
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup (Karo)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Step 1

Lightly butter 15x10 inch baking pan. In a large bowl combine popcorn, nuts, melted butter and sprinkle lightly with salt.

In microwave safe bowl melt 1/2 cup butter, stir in sugar and Karo. Cook on high about 2 1/2 minutes. Stir, continue cooking 1min. 10 seconds until Carmel color. Remove from microwave and stir in vanilla. Slowly pour over popcorn/nut mix until well coated. Spread onto tray and let cool. When cooled break apart and place in air tight container.
