Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tbsp dark corn syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

Step 1
Put the sugar and syrup into a saucepan and stir together to mix (you can't stir once the pan's on the heat). Place the pan on medium heat and let the mixture first melt and then turn to goo and finally a bubbling mass the color of maple syrup, about 3 min or so; remove from the heat. Whisk in the baking soda. Turn mixture immediately onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Leave until set then break into pieces.
