  • 2 c flour

  • 1 c brown sugar

  • ½ c shortening

  • ½ c butter

  • 3 eggs seperated

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 c chopped nuts

  • Rasperry jam or jelly


Cream shortening and butter with brwon sugar. Add egg yolks and mix well. Add four and salt. Mix well. Roll into 1" balls. Beat egg white until foamy. Roll balls into egg whites and then nuts. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 F for 7 minutes. Rmove from oven and make a small dent in center with thimble. Put 1/2 tsp raspberry jam or je;;y in dent. Return to oven for 12 minutes.
