  • 2 cups sifted flour

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • ⅓ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • one stick margarine

  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds

  • ½ cup raisens

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup dry milk or 1 cup regular

  • Note: 2 teaspoons baking powder to 1 cup flour except in using self rising flour when baking powder is not needed.


Put all dry ingredients except raisens into a large bowl. Rub butter into mixture until very fines. Make a well and pour water in gradually (1 - 1 1/2 cups or 1 cup regular milk). Add the whole egg and mix. Add raisens and mix until raisens are evenly distributed. Pour into a 9x9 greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. test center for dryness. When ready turn out of pan and cover with towel until cool.
