  • Dough:

  • 1 pkg. yeast

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • 1 tsp. sugar

  • 3 Tbs. olive oil

  • 3¼ cups flour

  • Filling:

  • 3 thinly sliced onions

  • 3 Tbs. Balsamic Vinegar

  • Olive oil

  • Marjoram

  • Salt

  • pepper

  • 2 Large Sausages

  • 1 cup mozzarella or Parmesan


For dough, dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water for 10 minutes. Mix salt, sugar, olive oil and 1 cup cool water and pour into flour. Knead on a flat surface until elastic and smooth or use food processor and pulse until dough forms a ball, then remove and knead by hand. Place dough in a buttered and floured bowl and let rest for 30 minutes. Roll into 1 large or 2 small circles and brush with oil. Cook onions over low heat in balsamic vinegar and olive oil until they are melted. Season with salt, pepper and marjoram. Grill sausages, slice. Scatter cheese, onions and sausage over the dough and bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
