Original Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 12 oz. pkg. Nestlé Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Stir in the semi-sweet morsels and the nuts. Drop the dough by rounded teaspoon onto UNgreased baking sheets. Bake the cookies for 9 - 11 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the cookies to stand for 2 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
