Whipped Shortbread


This is a recipe passed down to me by Grandmother. I make it every Christmas.

  • 1 lb butter
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • candied cherries


Servings 8


Step 1

Soften butter then whip with sugar by and electric mixer for 10 minutes. Gently mix in flour and cornstarch. Drop (I like to roll into semi-flat balls) onto ungreased cookie sheet. Top each with 1/2 a candied cherry. Bake at 275F for 20-23 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely before storing or freezing.
