Pe-yes-we-CAN Pie

This recipe uses Lyle's Golden syrup which is from the UK a and can be found at most larger grocery stores, gourmet & specialty cooking/baking shops.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 c. melted butter, cooled
  • 3/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. Lyles Golden Syrup
  • 3/4 c. white sugar
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 3/4 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 deep dish pie shell

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Beat eggs in bowl, add melted butter, syrups, sugars, vanilla and salt. Stir until completely combined. Place pie shell on cookie sheet. Place chopped pecans in an even layer in pie shell. Pour filling over, tent with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes uncovered or until the filling is set.
