Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Self-Rising Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • One 12 oz. bottle of beer

Preparation

Step 1

Mix the 3 ingredients together and put dough in well greased loaf pan.

Melt 4 Tablespoons of butter and pour over the top of the mixture.

Bake at 350F for 20 minutes. Pour additional 4 tblsp. butter over dough and return to oven.

Bake for 20 minutes more.



That is the recipe as I was given it. I do find that that last 4 tblsp. of butter makes a mess, so I usually cut back to 2 or so.

Also, make sure that you use “self-rising” flour. Very important.

This is delicious served hot and slathered with (guess what!) Butter! I didn’t say it wasn’t fattening! Enjoy!
