Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls, split
  • 1 lb. shaved black Forest Ham (or thin sliced)
  • 12 oz. Gruyere cheese, sliced thin (I also use baby swiss, havarti or you could use provolone - not sure if prov. melts nicely though)
  • 1 tub (8 oz.) Philadelphia Chive and Onion Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-1/2 tsp. dried minced onion

Preparation

Step 1

Arrange bottoms of rolls in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish

Layer with ham and Gruyere (or other) cheese.

Spread each roll top with the cream cheese.

Place the roll tops over the sandwiches in the pan.

In a small saucepan melt 1/2 cup butter then add the grated Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce and minced onion. Pour the butter mixture over the sandwiches (or spoon it on with a large spoon).

Let stand for at least 20 minutes.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until heated through.

On Sunday with all the craziness going on in the house, I forgot to cover the sandwiches before baking so they were a little crispy, but still delicious. Next time I make them I'll probably cover them for 10-15 minutes, then uncover them for the rest of the time in the oven.
