Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 lb (250g) lean ground beef
- 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh oregano
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 4 cups chopped fesh plum tomatoes
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- Salt and pepper
- 1 bay leaf

Preparation
Step 1
1. In large saucepan, heat olive oil and vinegar. Add ground beef and brown, stirring constantly.
2. Add celery, onion and garlic, saute 2 to 3 min. Add herbs then stir in tomato paste, tomatoes and sugar. Season with salt and pepper, add bay leaf.
3. Lower heat and simmer, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hrs or to desired thickness.
