Ingredients

  • • 2 lb/800g good quality stewing or braising steak, diced
  • • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • • 1 large onion
  • • 2 leeks
  • • 2-3 sticks celery
  • • 1 pepper, any colour
  • • 1lb carrots
  • • Potatoes, diced - equal amount to the rest of the veg!
  • • 3 beef Oxo cubes
  • • Pinch of mixed herbs
  • • Worcester sauce

Preparation

Step 1

1. Put meat in pressure cooker, cover with water and sprinkle over crushed Oxo cubes and mixed herbs.

2. Bring to a boil and cook for a further 12 minutes (or simmer for half an hour if in a pan).

3. Pour in tomatoes and stir.

4. Put in all washed and chopped vegetables and stir.

5. Cook for a further 10 minutes in pressure cooker (longer if using a pan) until veggies are soft.

6. When finished, add gravy maker (Bisto), Worcester Sauce and/or red wine, if desired.

7. Stir and keep on simmer.

8. Serve with crusty bread, red cabbage, brown sauce, salt and pepper to taste!
