Cinnamon Apple Tea Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 4 Cinnamon and Apple herbal tea bags
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a teapot or bowl, pour water over teabags, cover and let sit for 5 minutes. Remove teabags and reserve 2 Tbsp tea.

In a large bowl, pour remaining tea over raisins, honey, and butter and cool completely. Beat in egg.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add tea mixure, blending well after each addition. Stir in walnuts.

Turn into greased and floured 9"X5"X3" loaf pan and bake 1 hour or until bread tests done. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes then turn out of pan and cool completely before glazing.

In a small bowl, gradually add reserved tea to confectioner's sugar until desired thickness. Drizzle over bread.
