Ingredients
- 5 5 1 1/2-inch spareribs, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
- 2 2 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 1 1 cup vinegar
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3 3 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 1 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 1 1 large green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 1 1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, including liquid
- 3 3 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 1/2 2 1/2 1/2 tablespoons water
Preparation
Step 1
In a large saucepot, combine spareribs, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic. Cover and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add onion, bell pepper, and pineapple. Continue cooking for 15 more minutes.
Combine cornstarch and water; stir into sparerib mixture. Cook until mixture thickens.
Makes 8 servings.
