Ingredients
- 1 pkg (11 oz) dried apricots, cut into small pieces
- 1 can (30 oz) crushed pineapple
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 1 jar (8 oz) maraschino cherries
- 6 cups sugar
Preparation
Step 1
In large pan combine apricots, pineapple and syrup, water and cherry syrup.
Let stand one hour then cook slowly until apricots are tender.
Add sugar and cook slowly, stirring often until thick and clear (216 degrees)
Add cherries cut into 1/4 and cook a few minutes longer (220 degrees). Pour into hot sterilized jars and cover with paraffin.
Gretchen's Christmas JamCut - 1 lb dried apricots into small pieces, cover with water and soak overnight, then add 20 ounces crushed pineapple and juice.
Ad 1/2 bottle (7-8 oz) maraschino cherries cut and juice, 4 cups sugar
Cook: about 30 minutes until thick, stir often, sticks easily.
