Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp margarine
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup reduced-fat milk
- 2 cups (8 oz) shredded mild or sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 package (3 oz) cream cheese, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup (2 oz) crumbled blue cheese
- 1/8 tsp ground red pepper
- 4 to 6 drops pepper sauce
- Assorted fresh vegetables or breadsticks for dipping
Preparation
Step 1
Combine all ingredients except fresh vegetables in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring once ot twice, until cheese is melted and smooth. Increase heat to high and cook 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until heated through. Serve with fresh vegeatbles or breadsticks.
Lighten up: to reduce the total fat, replace Cheddar cheese and cream cheese with reduced-fat Cheddar and cream cheeses.
